    Pros +

    • The staff was wonderful. Initially we booked the Junior suite and the accomodations were old and dated. I noticed the suite across from me looked much newer and so they let me upgrade my next two nights to the newer suite for just $100 per night more. Once we did that, we had a much nicer stay. We were a family of four and the updated suite wasn't just nicer, it had a separate luggage room.
    • Shuttle to Happo and Hakuba base was easy, snow not great but not the hotel's fault. Beautiful hotel, lovelly setting in the woods, amazing Onsen. Nice to have drinks and food available in the lounge.
    • We had a nice room, lovely outlook, comfortable large bed, private onsen, what more could you want other than a car. Everything about our stay was great, but the hotel a little remote, so didn’t venture out at night due to the limited bus service. We used the local bus service to go skiing which worked well. The restaurant at the hotel was expensive, but they made up for it by offering complimentary hot food like miso soup and chicken curry and rice between 12-4pm, then complimentary drinks and snacks in the evening.

    Cons -

    • Originally the Junior suite was old.
    • We could not eat dinner at the restaurant because the fixed menu was not suitable for fish-eating vegetarians. No options at all and no flexibility. If you are a vegetarian, even if you eat fish, you will have to eat elsewhere for dinner, so if you ski during the day, you will have to go out again, and it is either an Uber ride or timing your dinner based on the shuttle.
    • Breakfast was a little disappointing.Shuttle services to the ski places. There were limited buses.

Food options fantastic both breakfast and dinners Free wine and afternoon snacks and facilities were good including Onsen.

Rooms dated and could use an upgrade

    9LevPosted on: 3-5-2025

Absolutely top notch experience. We were kept happy 24/7 - snacks available all day, a few fantastic onsen options (private / public), resort’s shuttle bus to get around, helpful and knowledgeable staff, clean rooms with high quality daily service

Once piece of constructive feedback - early morning transportation can be a challenge. Advice to staff is to warn people to order scheduled early morning pickups on the departure date as the rest of the itinerary can be at risk

    - general feeling quite nice, with snacks/tea room near lobby when back from ski- hotel generally very clean,- onsen quite nice,- food quality,- good choice for breakfast, and not too crowdy, making the breakfast general feeling being relax- ski/material rental at hotel is very convenient, including hotel lockers

    - hotel employees not too flexible at first, but then when trying again, there is still some degrees of flexibility which is possible, for late dinner booking or basic foods delivered to room for example.- 2 dinner sets available(+ limited but nice a la carte), 1x chinese set, 1x french set, with limited availability per time frame; alternatively consider taking a taxi for a dinner downtown hakuba.- onsen direction(west side one) not clear in the hotel; I recommend the hotel to add some marking for the west side one- the outside terrace walk is icy by evening/night and there is no safety carpet everywhere; I therefore recommend hotel to improve for it(safety first !) as I did fall on my back; got very lucky not to land at emergency- city bus shuttle to ski stations is great to stop at hotel; just; it is very crowdy, so depending on your budget, you may prefer taking a taxi instead (also everyday need to register with QR code including email address and other info; little time consuming and complicated for just taking a shuttle bus)- if possible, I recommend hotel to keep the pool/dart room open later than in the afternoon as most people go to ski day time during winter, so have no time to enjoy it during the stay(especially with kids).- last but not least, loosing 1x room key (simple room card) cost 3000JPY ! i recommend hotel to find a way keeping the price cheaper; please understand that people do not voluntarily loose the room card(especially can happen for kids).

Spacious lounge and common facilities. We like the convenience of its own ski rental, the 4 private onsen and the free flow wine/ sake and light snacks. Oden is very good. Rooms are comfortable and spacious.

The wifi bandwidth is low and no Netflix in the room. I think the cleanup of the rooms could be better (removal of used cups, replenishing of tea bags, tidiness of the bed) although these are small complaints.

    9LeannePosted on: 2-28-2025

Free snacks and wine in the lounge for guests is wonderful after a day of skiing. All of the staff were extremely friendly and the room was well kept. The private Onsen opens up for booking at 3pm daily which was great!

Some of the reviews complain of the location. We rented a car and we thought the location was fabulous and away from some of the more boisterous parts of town. It’s a peaceful escape in the woods.

Property itself is good. Overall review 9 for the property and 1 for the staff and service.

The hotel-client relationship has significantly worsened over the past seven years. In particular, a few years ago, a very convenient hotel shuttle bus that took tourists to restaurants and ski resorts was cancelled, switching it to rare public transport, jam-packed and not always punctual. But if before it at least went regularly, then this year, essentially, once or twice a day to nearby slope and twice back. This year, the reception removed all local restaurant leaflets and refused to book any for guests (you have to call yourself from their phone to non English speaking restaurant staff - extremely unfriendly move from the hotel management), apparently hinting that guests should eat in the hotel restaurant, which is four to five times more expensive than the average for the area. It is impossible to get through to restaurants from the hotel phone - they do not pick up the phone (while from an international number they answer immediately) - apparently the hotel's relationship with restaurants has been completely spoiled. Leaving the hotel has become almost impossible, the hotel cannot book a taxi in 50% of cases, even if the order is made 4 hours in advance. It is extreme lack of taxis in the area. And no hotel car or bas - nothing provided. In general, it became impossible to agree on anything with the reception staff, to ask for or order anything. There was a feeling of their complete incompetence, unwillingness to help and rudeness. It is a pity, the hotel itself as a facility is quite good.

Close to excellent skiing. Helpful staff. Great private onsens to reserve. Excellent breakfast buffet and apris ski snacks. Very nice lounge. Outstanding French restaurant on site.

    Ski rental stuff very sparse.

    9XiaotianPosted on: 2-24-2025

Room and onsen was great, spacious, free snacks, staff were helpful and friendly.

Far from ski resorts, need to rely on the shuttle buses. Breakfast could use more variety. Hard to get taxis to go around.

Beautiful hotel in natural location. Our room was comfortable with a great forest view and radiant heat floors. Natural Onsen, massage chairs, breakfast buffet and wonderful French restaurant. On site parking. Very kind responsive staff

Limited dinner option required going outside of resort. Private Onsen hard to book.

Facility was lovely and extremely enjoyable. Loved the lounge with refreshments.

Shuttle times to get to the mountain were a bit random and inconvenient in the morning.

    7CarleighPosted on: 2-12-2025

The hotel was absolutely beautiful and such friendly staff and beautiful food.

There wasn't enough access to taxis in and out of the hotel and the bus the hotel ran wasn't frequent enough. We would try and book taxis the day prior early I'm the day and none were answering or available because theybwere fully booked. And as the hotel isn't located right in town you can't just wall there especially in winter.

    10AgungPosted on: 2-5-2025

Great resort, great dinner and breakfast. Access to ski is a bit far , we will need taxi to get around.

    10GeoffreyPosted on: 1-30-2025

Sad to leave after 10 nights. Everything is great. Staff are lovely and helpful. Shuttle bus runs on time. Can hire skis on site. Beautiful private onsens.

    9HinesPosted on: 1-30-2025

Excellent location for skiing. Lovely private onsens. Comfortable lounge. Generous extras (hot apri ski food, bottomless sake & wine). Expensive but outstanding French restaurant.

    Very limited ski rental gear.

Everything. This property was amazing. The staff are friendly and helpful. The rooms are large and very comfortable for four adults. Loved all the facilities. Free food and drinks was a nice touch. The private Onsen’s are fabulous and easy to book.

    Absolutely nothing.
